Double-walled glasses are made with a high borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a type of glass that contains boron trioxide which allows a very low coefficient of thermal expansion.
This means it will not crack under extreme temperature changes like regular glasses. The durability of double-walled glass makes it the best glass for high-end restaurants, laboratories, and wineries.
All double-walled glasses have a small hole at the bottom, which is sealed to equalize the pressure of the double-walled glass layers and ensures that the glass does not get broken despite extreme temperature fluctuations.
If the seal is accidentally removed, moist will take place between the two walls and it will no longer serve its function.
